About GW Events

The GW Events team is the central events office at The George Washington University, presenting, hosting and executing traditional, educational and cultural events on campus. Our goal is to provide our students, the GW Community and the larger community with access to eminent guest speakers, thought leaders, performers and more. Our events celebrate the history and unique culture of the University, and provide students with opportunities for learning and enrichment outside of the classroom.

Our largest events venue, Lisner Auditorium, has served as an anchor for arts and culture on the Foggy Bottom Campus since 1946. The building, which is revered as a National & DC Historical Landmark, has hosted world class events and activities, attracting well over 100,000 visitors a year to the University. Named in honor of Abram Lisner, a University trustee and philanthropist, the auditorium is renowned for its vast range of performances and events - from high profile political and celebrity speakers to iconic musical artists from around the world.

Our other events venues include -

Jack Morton Auditorium at the School of Media and Public Affairs
City View and State Room at the Elliott School of International Affairs
